In January 1981, he founded the Renewable Fuels Association in Washington, D.C. and served as its first president/CEO.  Hallberg is the inventor of two method technologies, including the closed-loop process that will be licensed by the Company, US Patent 6,355,456, issued on March 12, 2002, with a 20-year term.
